ALL MEN FOR ALL PEOPLE, ALL THE TIME

The Constitution and Bill of Rights affirm that all people born in the United States are entitled to rights and personal liberties. NOMAS, The National Organization of Men Against Sexism, has the goal to affirm those rights, for ALL People, in all areas. NOMAS particularly desires to promote equality respecting gender, race, religion and sexual orientation. We have made a universal commitment to justice in these areas and issues relating to age, social class and physical ability.

Some people are ready to criticize NOMAS because it is a men’s group. There is the appearance it is sexist. That cannot be farther from the truth. The whole idea has always been that “as men,” we are ready to stand up to be counted against sexism and to support feminism. We realize most people are reared with restrictive ideas and to have gender based role behavior. We believe it is necessary to realize these constraints. By educating everyone, society can rise above those ideas to give freedom to both men and women. Individuals may express who they are, without becoming victims of gender bias, or any form of artificial classifications. We welcome everyone to NOMAS, no matter what your sexual persuasion. Part of our leadership and some of our most productive members are women.

Many people have always been willing to support “rights” for themselves. We believe supporting “rights for everyone” enhances everyone’s lives. We have continued since our beginning with men supporting feminism in the ’60s. The group has expanded in scope, to include current critical areas of gender/sexual bias. We don’t believe anyone’s government should intervene in ways that diminish an individual, by defining a family, or a marriage, or telling someone who they can or cannot love. History has already seen this bias bring restraints. For reasons of race, birthplace origin, social class, or religion, people have been deprived of basic rights, respect and human dignity. This has got to stop and the time is NOW!Take a look here to learn more: Feminisms
