Steering Committee Robbie Samuels, Co-chair Matt Meyer, Co-chair Matt Meyer lives and works in boston as a freelance Percussionist. Originally from Chicago, he came to boston for Music school and after a bit of wondering and adventuring decided to stay, to seek his fortune (or rather, subsistance living) as a musician. Matt is involved the Unitarian Universalist Church, where he frequently leads Sunday services about the power of music and rhythm to affect our lives and relationships. He is also involved with Unitarian Universalist Men Against Domestic Violence (UUMADV). Matt believes strongly in knitting on public transit, singing loudly in the shower, and seeking cultural revolution through a radical revisioning of gender roles, as well as searching out new ways for both friends and strangers to relate to each other in a way that allows us to find our greatest potential as caretakers of the earth and each other. Jack Kahn, Social Events Coordinator Jack is an associate professor of psychology at Curry College in Milton, MA and holds a masters degree in marriage and family counseling and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology. Jack was heavily involved in music and in addition to being in a band, he put out a fanzine and record label (called Hippycore) and set up local shows with his college roommate. The shows/fanzine/and record label raised money and awareness on such topics as free speech, environmentalism, oppression, misogyny and animal rights. In his spare time, Jack enjoys independent films, learning to play guitar, old/bad horror movies (particularly those starring Vincent Price), music, reading, and cooking. He and his wife Jackie live with their dog Molly in Boston. Currently there are no antifamily businesses backing him, either. |
